Unimaginable Joy
by Cicely Jefferson
Jesus is Holy, Righteous, and Perfect, yet He knows what it means to feel the pains and sorrows that come with living in a fallen world. As Christians, we live in a world that is often hostile to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In many facets of society, Christians are being attacked, rejected, and ridiculed for believing in Jesus.
Jesus understands every trial and temptation that we endure for his sake. He is our perfect example of what it means to live in the world without becoming like the world. He understands what it means to weep over the loss of a loved one, to be tempted by Satan, to be homeless, to be frustrated, to be tired, to be rejected, to be lonely, and to be disappointed. There is no human emotion that Jesus has not felt. We are never alone in our suffering because Jesus understands. We have hope in Jesus because he did not come into the world for the sole purpose of only dying for our sin. He also came to provide us with the hope of Heaven. Jesus has prepared a place for his children, and we can be confident that at the appointed time, He will return to take us home with him. The sufferings of this life will not last forever. We have a high priest who came to earth to show us the way. He is our guide. Our imaginations are too small for the unimaginable joy that we will experience when we see Jesus face to face. As we follow Christ, he will lead us to our eternal home in Glory.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. - Hebrews 4:15 NIV
