Meet Dr. Justin Gandy, Associate Professor of Management and Faculty Sponsor of The Regiment, who teaches Management, Management Communication, Organizational Behavior, Social Entrepreneurship, Business Leadership, and Developing a Christian Mind.

"I want to help students understand their calling and become excellent in their chosen field so that they can help bring redemption to a lost and broken world … to help them understand how they can help God’s Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven."

Why do you teach at DBU?

"My purpose in life is to become conformed to the image of Christ and to utilize my gift of teaching to bring about redemption to a lost and broken world. God has presently called me to live out that purpose at DBU."

How do you integrate faith into your classroom (or teaching)?

"I integrate faith into the classroom by challenging students to weigh the information presented in the texts against a biblical worldview. We must filter what we think and what we do through the truth of the Bible. The latest research often reflects the current opinions of the culture, but we must compare those opinions with the timeless Word of God."

How do you mentor students at DBU?

"I have sponsored The Regiment since it was founded in 2010. The Regiment supports the baseball team, men's and women's soccer, and various other student events through firing the canon and through cooking. Some of the events we serve at include SWAT, Transfer SWAT, Red R

"I have also served as an AIM mentor every semester for the past four years. In addition to formal mentoring, I often meet informally with students to discuss various life issues. I have been asked to speak to various student groups in the past including Stone House, Jewel House, Thread, Greek Life, and Student Life."ally, Homecoming, Beast Feast, and Stuff the Stands.

What is your goal for your students at DBU?

"I pray my students will become conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29). I want to help students understand their calling and become excellent in their chosen field so that they can help bring redemption to a lost and broken world. I want to help them understand how they can help God’s Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven."
