Texas Hispanic Leader Gus Reyes Serves at DBU
DBU has recently appointed Dr. Gus Reyes to serve as Director of Hispanic Partnerships. In this new role, Dr. Reyes will work closely with the University in expanding its connection and service to Hispanic churches, educational organizations, students, and families throughout the State of Texas.
"It is my privilege to serve the Lord at DBU by connecting with Hispanic students, alumni, parents, and future Patriots to encourage these servant leaders as they continue to integrate faith and learning for Kingdom impact," says Reyes.
Prior to coming to DBU, Dr. Reyes served with the Baptist General Convention of Texas since 2002, most recently as Director of the Christian Life Commission, and prior to that as Director of Hispanic Education Initiative/Affinity Ministries, and Director of Service Center and Ethnic Consultant for the Center of Strategic Evangelism.
Dr. Reyes holds a BBA and Marketing degree from the University of Texas, an MBA from Angelo State University, and a Master's in Religious Education and Ph.D. in Foundations of Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
"We are so excited to welcome Dr. Reyes to the DBU Family to serve in this important and strategic role in strengthening relationships with our Hispanic friends in Texas and beyond," said Dr. Adam C. Wright, DBU President. "I know the Lord will use these partnerships in ministry and education to prepare many more Hispanic Christian leaders to serve His Kingdom."
