DBU Global Community Hosts 2022 International Forum on Education and Leadership
DBU's Global Community engages, equips, and empowers international partner educational institutions through providing resources and leadership training opportunities such as the International Forum on Education and Leadership. After conducting the 2021 Forum virtually due to COVID, this year DBU had the privilege to host the event on campus on July 17-23.
The Forum discussed topics ranging from integration of faith and learning, mentoring, teaching methodology, institutional issues, and leadership through plenary sessions, workshops, local school visits, networking opportunities, and local tourism.
There were 27 participants representing upper leadership from 12 different school groups and seven countries, including Oman, India, Guatemala, China, and others. New school partnerships and virtual pen-pal programs were discussed through the many networking opportunities.
"Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to learn about Christian education and to meet people from different parts of the world," said one of the attendees, and many others shared how encouraged they were from the Forum to return to their schools and practice what they learned.
"The Forum was immensely successful," says Jon Dooley, Assistant Vice President for International Affairs. "School leaders from around the world built relationships and left encouraged by the speakers. It was a real privilege for us to be a part of this program. It truly accomplished the goal of the program: to serve and equip school leaders in their incredible work."
