A Call to Purity and Purpose: Dimas Salaberrios Inspires DBU Chapel

Pastor Dimas Salaberrios speaking in Dallas, Texas, at DBU's Chapel service

On Wednesday, February 26, DBU was honored to welcome Pastor Dimas Salaberrios to share a powerful message in Chapel. A faith leader, film producer, prayer warrior, and author, Salaberrios is the founder and former pastor of Infinity Bible Church in New York City. Salaberrios' message, titled The Call to Purity and Purpose, was deeply personal. He began by reflecting on his 23-year marriage and the lessons he learned about the power of purity. Sharing a story from his time in Uganda, he recalled working alongside a Christian revival leader—a former witch doctor—who emphasized that "our purity is our power." This simple yet profound truth has stuck with Salaberrios, reminding him that walking in purity gives us power in the face of evil.

He challenged students to recognize that their time at DBU is not just about gaining knowledge but about preparing for a life of purpose. "God separated you for a purpose," he declared. "Don't miss it. You have been set apart for the glory of Christ Jesus."

One of the most moving moments of the service came during worship. Salaberrios described worship as more than pure singing—it is an invitation to connect and enter God's presence. "When we worship, we send worship to God, and in return, He responds with His presence," he said. "This presence," he explained, "has the power to cleanse, strengthen, and equip believers to stand firm in a dismal world."

This world, Salaberrios shared, is darker than ever. As someone working in the film industry and in ministry, he's seen firsthand the rise of witchcraft and demonic practices. He emphasizes the necessity of living deeply rooted in Christ to stand strong in this spiritual battle. "I try to regularly spend time with God, in prayer, seeking His face," he shared. "When we do that, we build our strength to encounter darkness."

Salaberrios urged students to walk in purity and trust in the Lord's protection. "The power of purity is unmatched. It gives you the strength to stand firm, even when everything around you is falling apart." He reminded them that following Jesus would not always be easy, but that surrendering everything to Him is where true power is found.

Within his own life, Salaberrios had to make decisions to cut ties with sin and pursue holiness, even when it seemed impossible. "Sometimes you have to walk away from things that are holding you back, even if it's hard. That's when you'll experience the real power of God—when you surrender everything to Him."

Closing with Psalm 20:7, he challenged students to trust in God above all else. "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." No matter their career path, he encouraged them to live with purpose, be deeply rooted in faith, and allow God to use them for His glory. "God has set you apart for a purpose," he reiterated. "Wherever you go, whatever field you're in, whether it's business, education, or the arts, He wants to use you to make an impact for Jesus. Be deep in Him. Walk in His purity. Trust Him fully." This message resonated with everyone in the chapel, reminding them that they are not here by accident, and that their lives have a divine purpose. Their world may be dark, but they are called to be the light.

Dimas Salaberrios is a faith leader, film producer, prayer warrior, and author. Salaberrios is the founder and former pastor of Infinity Bible Church in New York. He has led prayer efforts in the aftermath of national tragedies, including the George Floyd protests, and has been on the front lines of disaster relief in Haiti and Houston. His work in film includes the documentary Emanuel and his directorial debut, Chicago: America's Hidden War. He and his wife, Tiffany, have three daughters. His story is a powerful testimony about one man's dangerous journey through the underworld of crime, drugs, and almost certain death. It was an encounter with the real God that saved his life.
