Program Testimonials
Jonathan Jones | Assistant Professor of History, James Madison University
“I wouldn’t be a college professor today without the guidance I received from DBU history professors during my undergraduate career. I came to college as a first-generation student with no clue how anything worked, from planning a semester class schedule to completing a 4-year BA in History or getting into graduate school. DBU history professors were immensely generous with their time and wisdom, providing the one-on-one intellectual and personal guidance and support I needed to succeed in college. Small class sizes with engaging professors gave me a chance to ask questions, share ideas, and grow. I am so grateful for the impact that DBU faculty have had on my life!”
Lydia Towns | Lecturer of World History at Stephen F. Austin State University
"I count my time at DBU as one of the greatest blessings in my life. The Biblical worldview and Christ-centered service exemplified by the faculty and staff in and outside the classroom continues to have a profound impact on my life. My professors in the History Department and College of Humanities challenged me academically and personally, instilling in me a love for learning and history that has enabled me to succeed professionally."
John Turnage | Assistant General Counsel at Stearns Bank N.A.
"The years I spent in the DBU Department of History were foundational in shaping the course of my life. Under the instruction and guidance of dedicated and compassionate Christian professors, I sharpened my research, writing, and discernment skills, which aided me in law school and throughout my career. The opportunities and responsibilities I encountered at DBU in the areas of academics, ministry and service, and relationships prepared me to pursue greater opportunities, meet and overcome personal and professional challenges, and strive to be a servant leader for God's glory in my roles as a husband, father, military leader, attorney, friend, and church and community member."
