Convenience Fee
Credit Card or Debit Card Payments
Whenever a credit card or debit card is used to make a payment, the credit card company and merchant processors can charge DBU at least 2% and up to 3.5% on each amount of the total transaction as a fee.
As of June 1, 2015, DBU will no longer accept credit card or debit card payments in person, by mail, or over the phone for student accounts or apartment accounts, but instead, credit card and debit card payments for student accounts and apartment accounts are processed by a third-party processor called TouchNet.
When you log on to your Student Account Center, you will be rerouted to the TouchNet system. If you decide to make a credit card or debit card payment through the TouchNet system, you will be charged a 2.85% ($3 minimum) convenience fee.
Other Payment Methods
In order to avoid this convenience fee, we strongly suggest that you pay your bill with an electronic check. This method, called “e-check”, is available for you to pay your tuition and apartment bill online without additional cost.
Please note that DBU will continue to accept and process check and cash payments made in person through our Cashier’s Office and a 2.85% ($3 minimum) convenience fee will not be charged to students or parents who choose to pay their bill using an e-check, check, or cash.
