Dallas Baptist University provides information to enrolled students about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) as amended, 20 U.S.C. 1232g, and the regulations of the U.S. Department of Education, 34 C.F.R. Part 99, affords students attending, or who have attended, certain rights with respect to their education records. Students are considered to be “in attendance” once they have registered for courses for their initial term of enrollment. **Requirements for Withdrawals and Return of Title IV Financial Aid

When a student does not complete an academic term (withdraw), federal regulations require that Dallas Baptist University returns any unearned portion of federal aid that you received, or may be eligible to receive, based on the number of days attended. **Transfer of Credit Policies and Articulation Agreements
Dallas Baptist University makes available to the public: (i) established criteria the institution uses regarding the transfer of credit earned at another institution. (ii) institutions with which the institution has established an articulation agreement. NOTE: DBU participates in the Texas Common Course Numbering System, a voluntary, co-operative effort among 136 Texas community colleges and universities to facilitate transfer of freshman and sophomore level general academic coursework. TCCNS provides a shared, uniform set of course designations for students and their advisors to use in determining both course equivalency and degree applicability of transfer credit on a statewide basis. When students transfer between two participating TCCNS institutions, a course taken at the sending institution transfers as the course carrying the same TCCNS designation at the receiving institution.”

NOTE: The estimate provided using this calculator does not represent a final determination, or actual award, of financial assistance, or a final net price; it is an estimate based on cost of attendance and financial aid provided to students in a previous year. Cost of attendance and financial aid availability change year to year. The estimates shall not be binding on the Secretary of Education, the institution of higher education, or the State. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible.
As of March 2024, DBU has moved to Slingshot as their campus bookstore provider. Information regarding required and recommended textbooks and supplemental material for courses may be found on DBU's Campus Store website. Be sure to look at Slingshots FAQ page for in depth information on purchasing/rental option, available plans, and how to obtain pricing for your books.
At DBU, all incoming and transfer students are opted in to Slingshot when they start their program with a preference for rental books set as the default. Students will stay opted in for future terms unless they choose to opt out. Any student can opt out or return unneeded books within one week of their course start date; however, Slingshot can’t guarantee that books will be available for students that are opted out. Students that have opted out can still place online orders from their Slingshot student portal or by visiting the campus store.

Payments for Books and Supplies:
The Slingshot DBU Bookstore accepts cash, all major credit cards, tap pay, ZIP, and payment charged to your student account. Any available financial aid will be paid through the University.
NOTE: Students can use financial aid for online or in-store orders if they have sufficient credit in their account. If using Financial Aid, Students will need to work with the DBU Cashier’s office to use SFA funds.
